Your New Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team in either our Sydney or Brisbane office.

This is a full-time, 7 month fixed-term contract. 

This role will ensure that all supplier invoices and payments are recorded and processed accurately and promptly.

Your Key Responsibilities   

  • Ensuring that all local and overseas supplier invoices and payments are entered with accuracy and efficiency
  • Processing of urgent payments upon request
  • Reconcile local and overseas creditor statements and following up on missing invoices and credit/adjustment notes and ensuring that suppliers have correctly applied all payments
  • Ensuring that relevant invoices are correctly and promptly recorded against the relevant client case for billing
  • Actioning all email queries from internal and external sources in the accounts payable mailbox promptly, keeping the mailbox clear
  • Other duties as required

Your Training and Skills 

To be successful in this role it is a requirement that you have:

  • Solid understanding of accounts payable functions (minimum 3 years’ experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ computerised accounting experience (MYOB Advanced would be preferred)
  • Multi-currency experience
  • Competence with Excel and Outlook

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience in a professional services firm
  • Formal accounting qualifications
  • An understanding of unbilled disbursements (WIP) as it relates to a professional services environment
