Your New Role
An attractive opportunity has arisen for a Patent Assistant to join FB Rice’s highly successful Biotechnology group in Melbourne. This is a temporary, full-time position, up to 12-month contract (parental leave cover).
Your Key Responsibilities
- Managing complex case related administration
- Working with the IP Australia and IP Office of New Zealand on-line databases
- Working with our database and template system (iManage and Inprotech)
- Timely and highly organised file management
- Proof reading and data entry
- Administrative tasks including filling, scanning, invoicing, organising diaries and making appointments for attorneys
- Drafting correspondence
- Preparation of invoices
- Filing of patent applications
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Your Training and Skills
To be considered for this opportunity, it is a requirement that you have:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-confidence, and an ability to exercise your initiative
- An ability to work in a team and independently
- A respect for established processes and procedures
- A solid knowledge of MS Office and ideally Inprotech
