Job Description

Your New Role

An attractive opportunity has arisen for a Patent Assistant to join our highly successful Chemistry team. This is a full-time ongoing role. We are open to candidates applying from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or New Zealand. 

Your Key Responsibilities                                                                           

  • Managing complex case related administration
  • Working with the IP Australia and IP Office of New Zealand on-line databases
  • Working with our database and template system (including Inprotech)
  • Timely and highly organised file management 
  • Proof reading
  • Generating portfolio reports for clients and wip reports for attorneys
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Other duties as required

Your Training and Skills 

To be successful in this role it is a requirement that you have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an Intellectual Property (IP) firm
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-confidence, and an ability to exercise your initiative
  • An ability to work in a team and independently 
  • A respect for established processes and procedures
  • A solid knowledge of MS Office and Inprotech
